I have been active in online communities since the late 1980s, when as a teen I dialed in to BBSes. I started on the web in 1995, when I began attending the University of Illinois, where Mosaic had recently been invented. I started an online journal in 1996, after seeing some other journals maintained by students in Hawaii. My web site has since evolved in to a “blog,” which is all the rage these days.
It can sometimes be embarrassing for me to revisit my younger writings, but I think it is interesting to observe the development of a person over many years. These days I don’t talk about myself as much as I share my ideas and concerns regarding technology, humanity, and the world.
Thank you for reading. And if you have ever written me, thank you for sharing.
