Halloween, 1999

Jarritos Fresa!

Augh hey Happy Halloween my little kittens! So, this weekend dannyman has been to two costume parties with Miss Jessica. I didn't put much effort in to a costume. At the last minute I found this great alien head mask at Long's, and bought a Star Wars water pistol to go with it. Combine that with black, clothes, the "Many Moods of an Alien" tee shirt, and the little stuffed martian Kathy gave me upon leaving EnterAct and I had a pretty decent costume.

Jessica was a vampiress dressed in this blue and purple fancy victorian dress she picked up at a thrift shop years ago and was just achin' for an excuse to wear. On Friday we went to a party at one of her cow-orkers' houses and last night there was another set of her friends throwing a party in Sunnyvale. It was a mostly Asian crowd, featuring three aliens besides myself. Lots of couples and dancing. The party on Friday was quieter and featured better costumes, decorations, and booze.

And today, I have the house to myself. I slept in and just took a slow leisurely start. I noticed that it was Standard time once again because the clock on the computer was an hour behind the one on the alarm clock. Neato. Then I thought I'd go around the corner to this "Custom Cycle" shop I had seen on the adjacent block, on El Camino. Well, it was closed, and squinting my eyes in there it looks like this Cycle Shop is a Motorcycle shop. Well, that sort of confusion seems to happen pretty regular in California. I bought a bike helmet when Tammie told me it was the law. While she thought I was riding a morobike and I was really just riding my old Raleigh, I'm still glad she gave me a good excuse to get a helmet.

On the way back arond, I stopped by the hot dog stand by Lozano's Car Wash. Hot dogs! A rare treat in California indeed. While I was ordering, a lady ran up and bought this delicous-looking cherry soda. When I got my hot dog it as only after a lot of false starts, miscommunication, and finally pointing at the quarter the previous lady had left before I too got a bottle of cherry pop, the top of which the lady in the hot dog stand popped with the blade of a large knife! Cool! The hot dog was pretty good for a hot dog, and the soda was wonderful. I guess next time though I wanna ask for a "Jarritos Fresa".

Well, it has been a long time since I've run my check book, time to pay the bills. Fun!

$2380.96

I owe $2380.96 to credit cards after paying the bills this month. About 2/3 of that is on my new Linux Fund card which has a lower introductory rate 'til around the new year. I'm hoping to be even with my debts, not counting Christmas spending, by years end. In March I get to start re-paying student loans. I'm living comfortably, for sure, but I'm definately not rich yet!
