If Bush had his way . . .

George Bush has this line in his stump speech:

“If John Kerry had his way, Saddam Hussein would still be in power!”

I think John Kerry could weave this in to his stump speech:

“If George Bush had his way, Osama bin Laden would still be at large!”

It makes me grin.

“If George Bush had his way, Osama bin Laden would still be at large, Kim Jong Il would have half a dozen nuclear weapons, with long-range missiles. Iran would be enriching Uranium and infiltrating Iraq with Shia insurgents. If George Bush had his way, it would take more than two years to bring free elections to an occupied Iraq, not until it was on the cusp of a civil war with 150,000 American soldiers in the middle. If George Bush had his way, Arab militia would have committed genocide in Sudan. There would be a million fewer jobs than when Clinton left office, and health care costs would skyrocket, while the richest among us would make off with massive tax breaks.”

My goodness he could have a lot of fun with “if George Bush had his way . . .”

bin Laden could get caught, that’s the problem with that. A good slogan I would like to see is either “It’s the dishonesty, stupid.” or “It’s the accountability, stupid.”

Jesse — “If Bush had his way, bin Laden would still be at large 3 years after the WTC attacks.” The extra bit gets dropped from the sound bite anyway.
