A lot of people make the argument that "if you want your schedule shifted, you should just wake up earlier!" but I find this to be a fallacy. Our society is very time focused. If you live your life out of step with the rest of society, it does make a difference. For example, no matter what time I wake up in the morning, most of my friends go get lunch around noon, leave work around 6pm, and go to sleep before midnight.

That's not to say that DST is a great idea or anything. I'm just objecting to your last sentence implying that as an individual it is straightforward to adjust your schedule.

I personally like the DST hours better because I like to wake up late and stay up late, and so evening light is more precious to me than morning light. So I wish it were DST hours all year round!
