Wow. It sounds like you have been going through some tough times. On the other hand, I'm really impressed by the way you have been handling it. I get the impressiont that, after finding out about her affair, that you were patient and gave her the time she needed to work things through. I think a lot of people would have just given up and left. Kudos to you.

Sometimes, I think that things happened for a reason. Bad things do happen, but they also give us an opportunity to learn something. As you mentioned before, either we can sit at home and feel sorry for ourselves, or we can do something about it. If you've been keeping up with my blog, you will know that one of my students died in a car accident on Memorial Day. I've known said student for two years, and I found the whole ordeal pretty upsetting. However, on the flip side, I think this incident has changed the way I see things. I think that, wherever I end up teaching next year, I'm going to be more attentive and I'm going to have plenty to say about risk-taking and risky behavior. Hopefully, I won't have to see any more of my kids in a box. Then again, knowing how teenagers, I probably will, but it does't hurt to try, right?

By the way, are you going to be in the Chicago area any time soon? Dan and I would love to see you.
