There is a fine line that once crossed, damage has been done. Two years back I killed a potential relationship and a budding friendship in this manner and the events of that day have hung over me ever since. A positive lesson out of this is that now I err on the side of silence if I am about to do the verbal equivalent of fire-at-will. Playing nice is good. Taking it as well as dishing it is good.
