Is there any keyboard shortcut to mute the sound volume in mplayer?

Of course, the volume controls are right there – 9 and 0 on the keyboard. Also try the other numbers for brightness/contrast, etc.
Try typing
man mplayer
for more.

Yeah, no need for google with great linux apps. The man page had your answer right there. Volume?!? We don’t need no stinkin’ volume!

Go download Ubuntu. You’ll thank me.
